Is there a fee to apply for the Big50?
No
My email isn't coming up with an account. What do I do?
If you haven't applied for either the Remodeling Design Awards or the 2019 Remodeling 550, it is unlikley that you have an account. Please create a new account.
Why do I have to create an account?
Creating an account through our portal will allow you to log back in and continue working on your form at a later date. It will also give you access to your form to print it out for your records once you submit it. So, be sure to keep your login information!
Will I receive emails about my application?
Yes. Please add digitalawards@hanleywood.com to your email's whitelist to receive these emails.
When is the deadline?
Typically the Big50 program has launched in March, with the deadline to submit in May. In 2020, we're pressing pause and postponing the Big50 program. We will provide updates as the situation becomes clearer.
Who is eligible for the Big50?
Any remodeling company that is at least three (3) years old and has not been Big50 before is eligible for the award.
My company has been named Big50 before. Can we apply for the award again?
Unfortunately, no. The Big50 is one-awarded, lifetime honor for a company. We encourage you to keep the Big50 logo on your website and in your e-mail signature line. If you’d like the logo again, please contact Clay DeKorne at cdekorne@hanleywood.com or Vince Salandro at vsalandro@hanleywood.com.
Why do you ask for financial information?
We want to be sure that the companies we give the Big50 award to not only have great business practices, but are also successful. The Big50 is not based on size. We’ve had companies win who make hundreds of thousands a year and companies make upwards of $10million.
Is there a minimum amount of revenue I have to make each year in order to apply for the Big50?
No. The Big50 is not based on size.
What financial/company information will you print next to my company name?
We will print your 2019 volume, years in business, and number of employees.
My company is based in Canada. Can I apply for the Big50?
Yes. We only ask that you submit all financial information in American dollars.
Do I need to have references?
References are not necessary. If a colleague at NARI, Remodelers Advantage, NAHB Remodelers Council, etc. would like to send in a reference for your company, have them email Clay DeKorne at cdekorne@hanleywood.com or Vince Salandro at vsalandro@hanleywood.com.
My company was Big50 before but management has changed. Can we apply?
Unfortunately, no. The Big50 is an award for company excellence, not individual/ownership/manager excellence.
Can I save my form and continue it later?
Yes. Scroll to the bottom of your form and hit SAVE before exiting the application. Once you click the SAVE AND FINALIZE button, however, you will have submitted your application and be unable to make any further changes.
Can I print out my form once I’ve submitted it?
Yes! Login to your account. From your dashboard, go to My Applications - Complete. You will be able to print and/or view your completed form there.
I’ve applied for the Remodeling Design Awards in the past. Can I use the same login for the Big50 form?
Yes! The RMDAs and the Remodeling Big50 use the same platform. Please use the same email you used for your RMDA application and click the “forgot password” button if you can’t remember your password. If the person who applied for the RMDAs is no longer with the company, please create a new account.
Will I get emails confirming my submission?
Yes. If you have not received those emails, please check your spam/junk folder.
